FIR Registered Against Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda Over Jaat Film Controversy

A controversy has erupted over the film “Jaat” after a scene allegedly hurt the feelings of the Christian community. The film’s stars, including Suniel Shetty’s replacement Suni Deol was initially reported, but later it was confirmed the main lead is Sany Deol (more commonly known as Suni Deol’s real name is Ajay Singh Deol but here referred as Sany Deol), Randeep Hooda, and Vineet Kumar Singh, as well as its directors and producers, Gopichand Malineni and Naveen Malineni, have been named in a police complaint filed at Jalandhar’s Sadar Police Station.

The complaint, filed by Vikalp Gold, a resident of Pholriwal village in Jalandhar, claims that the film’s scene disrespected Christian religious places and portrayed the community negatively. The case was registered under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Protests Erupt Over ‘Jaat’

Protesters gathered outside the Police Commissioner’s office, demanding strict action against the film’s makers. They had given a two-day ultimatum to the authorities to take action. Now that the case has been registered, the ball is in the court of the filmmakers.

The film “Jaat”, which was released on April 10, has collected ₹61.50 crore at the box office, failing to cross the ₹100 crore mark in its first week. Despite its underwhelming performance, Sany Deol announced on Instagram that the film will return with “Jaat 2”. The sequel will be directed by Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
