Finland and Sweden; Russia warns of consequences

Russia has warned that Finland and Sweden’s accession to NATO would have disastrous consequences.

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told reporters in Moscow that Sweden and Finland’s accession to NATO would be a mistake that would have serious consequences. Joining NATO would not strengthen the security and safety of their countries. ۔

He warned that the decision of these countries to join NATO would increase the level of military tensions, which could have dire consequences.

It should be noted that Finland and Sweden are likely to make a formal request for NATO membership in the next one or two days.

Russia has warned that Brussels’ decision to allow Ukraine to join the European Union would end the 27-member bloc.

It should be noted that the European Union has intensified its efforts to include Kyiv in the EU bloc since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in late February.
