The lifeless body of the Brazilian actor Jefferson Machado da Costa44, was found inside a wooden trunk lined with cement and buried 6 feet in the backyard of a house in Rio de Janeiro after being reported missing on January 27.
According to the local media outlet G1, the authorities reported that the body that was identified by fingerprints was bound hand and foot and that it had a “scratch” on the neck, which could indicate that it was hanged.
“Jefferson was coldly and brutally murdered by envious, evil and, of course, unscrupulous people,” family friend Hilsendeger wrote on the actor’s Instagram account.
The police try to find those responsible for the death and concealment of the body of the soap opera star. A man who had rented the property and was seen there a month ago is listed as a suspect.
Jefferson’s relatives were receiving messages from his cell phone, but they were suspicious because they had misspellings from him.
Jefferson starred in the 2021 film, “Efecto Placebo (Efeito Placibo),” and played a Philistine in the 2022 soap opera “Reis.”
