The auction for the next season of the Women’s Premier League took place on December 9 in Mumbai. A total of 165 players registered for this auction. Only 30 of these players have to shine in the auction. In fact, there are only 30 spots available across the five Women’s Premier League franchises.

Of the 165 players registered in the auction list, 104 players are Indians and 61 players are foreigners. Among the foreign players there are 15 players from associated countries. Among the players included in the auction list, 56 players are represented with international caps, meaning they have played international matches, while 109 players (without international entry) have no international match experience.

The base price of the players involved in the auction is between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 50 lakh. The base price of Rs 50 lakh includes only two players. At the same time, there are four players available at the base price of Rs 40 lakh. After that, there is a glut of players with a base price of 30, 20 and 10 lakh rupees.

There are five teams in the Women’s Premier League. Each team can have a maximum of 18 players. The maximum number of foreign players is 6. This means that the total number of player spots in all five franchises is 90. Of these, 60 spots were filled exclusively with remaining players. In such a situation, these franchises now have only 30 vacant seats for the auction that will be held this week. For these 30 slots, a total of Rs 17.65 crore is available across the five franchises.
