Filmmaker Partho Ghosh passes away at 75

Renowned Bollywood director Partho Ghosh passed away at 75. He died of a heart attack. Ghosh was known for his work in the 1990s and 2000s, directing films like “100 Days” and “Agni Sakshi”.

Ghosh started his career in the 80s as an assistant director. He made his debut as a director in 1985 with a Bengali film. Later, he directed many Hindi films. His film “100 Days” starring Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff was a suspense-thriller that received positive reviews from critics and audiences.

Ghosh’s other notable films include “Geet” starring Divya Bharti and Avinash Wadhavan, and “Dalaal” starring Mithun Chakraborty and Ayesha Jhulka. His 1996 film “Agni Sakshi” starring Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, and Manisha Koirala was also well-received.

Throughout his career, Ghosh directed over 15 films, exploring various genres from suspense to romance. His last film was “Mausam Ikrar Ke Do Pal Pyar Ke” released in 2018. Ghosh was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Director for “Agni Sakshi”.
