The Spanish Triathlon Federation confirms with Costa Cálida, Region of Murcia, an agreement that will accompany the Spanish men’s team and our athletes during the competitions and successes of the 2023 season.
In the words of José Hidalgo, president of FETRI, “this is a very important agreement because we signed with Murcia and Costa Cálida the union that once again makes this region a pioneer in the world of triathlon”.
Murcia has always been a great reference and support for triathlon in its development as a sporting event, with Diego Calvo, the president of the Murcian Triathlon Federation, at the helm, The Region of Murcia is part of the triathlon history of our country, venues such as Águilas, Cartagena with the Water Games or Los Narejos with the High Performance Center make the region an important ally for FETRI and triathlon.
Francisco Sánchez, the General Director of Sports of Murcia, thanks the Federation for its trust and the implementation of this alliance. “To thank José Hidalgo for the impetus and because working with federations that really do an excellent job it is very easy to reach agreements like this”.
Also present at the agreement were the national coach and technical director, Iñaki Arenal, and the international triathlete, Sergio Baxter, who is native to the region “To take Murcia during this and the next few years in my competition overalls and work clothes is a source of pride, as well as having the support of my region in the face of upcoming competitions and the Olympic Games.”
