Ferrari recovers Santander

Ferrari recovers a very important Spanish sponsor for the cause of Formula 1: this Tuesday, The team confirmed the return of Banco Santander to the colors of its 2022 car. The entity was part of Maranello between 2010 and 2017, coinciding at the beginning with the years of Fernando Alonso in Italy, and now will be present in the car, the overalls and caps of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, as specified by the team in a statement. At the same time, they will feature on the GT program, Le Mans and the Young Driver Academy.

John Elkann, President of Ferrari: “It is an honor to align with a global banking institution like Santander.” Ana Botín, Head of the bank: “We are excited to work with Ferrari again and support them in their green transition. This new sponsorship will accelerate common goals.”

The Italian firm will therefore have two Spanish partners: Santander and Estrella Galicia, the brewery that has accompanied Sainz since 2013 and also has a presence in the motorcycling world championship. Meanwhile, the insurer Mapfre is listed in the Alpine. There are not many Spanish companies in the paddock of the Big circus, beyond Alonso’s personal sponsors (Kimoa or Finetwork).
