Ferrari Elettrica Electric Supercar Debuts: 1000+ HP, Advanced Tech Revealed

It’s no small thing when an icon like Ferrari steps into the electric car world. For a brand famous for roaring engines, this move feels both thrilling and a bit controversial. Yet, on October 9, the Italian automaker pulled back the curtain, just a little, on its first battery-powered model.

This new electric vehicle, temporarily dubbed “Elettrica,” is more than just a concept. Ferrari showed off a production-ready chassis. It came complete with the suspension system, battery setup, and powerful motors. The company is taking its time with the full reveal. This initial glimpse was just the first of three planned stages. The next two big reveals are set for the first and second quarters of 2026.

What Speed Fans Can Expect

We don’t know if the Elettrica will be a sedan, a wagon, or an SUV. However, some key design choices are firm. This electric Ferrari will have four doors. It boasts a wheelbase of 2959 millimeters, which is pretty long. Despite its electric nature, it will weigh just under 2313 kilograms.

The power comes from an 800V battery system. This hooks up to four electric motors, all built in-house by Ferrari. These motors are part of an advanced all-wheel-drive system. The Elettrica also features a third-generation active suspension. Ferrari worked with Multimatic to develop this. We first saw this clever suspension in the Purosangue. Instead of a traditional spring, it uses a central ball screw inside the shock absorber. An electric motor controls this screw, providing precise adjustments.

At the heart of the Elettrica’s power are its electric motors. There are two motors on each axle. Each motor can be controlled independently. While it’s mainly all-wheel drive, the front motors can disconnect. This allows the driver to switch to rear-wheel drive using the e-Manettino dial on the steering wheel. Ferrari states the Elettrica will produce “superior to 1000 hp” in its highest Performance Launch mode. Looking closer at the numbers, the front axle can deliver up to 282 horsepower. The rear axle can generate up to 831 horsepower. Add that up, and the total power could reach an impressive 1113 horsepower.

The Elettrica promises quick acceleration, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Its top speed will hit 310 km/h. A large 122 kWh battery will power it, offering over 530 kilometers of range. When it’s time to charge, it can handle up to 350 kW, which is very fast.

The Sound of an Electric Ferrari

For many, the soul of a Ferrari is its sound. How will an electric one deliver? Ferrari hasn’t shown much, but they have shared some details. Engineers found an authentic noise source. This comes from a stiff point in the rear motor assembly. It vibrates in tune with the motor’s load, speed, and even direction. They capture these vibrations with an accelerometer. Then, they use the signal, almost like an electric guitar amplifier, to create the car’s sound.

Ferrari is clearly serious about the Elettrica. They aim to attract new customers to this groundbreaking model. In fact, people are already lining up to buy one. The future of the Prancing Horse is electric, and it seems many are ready for the ride.
