Fencing teams leave Peru for the Continental Championship full of optimism

A delegation of 13 athletes from the National Fencing Teams, in their different modalities, left this Tuesday for Lima, Peru, where they will participate in the Senior Championship of that sport, to be held starting this Thursday the 15th with competitors of the highest level. of dozens of countries of the Continent.

The information was released by the president of the Dominican Fencing Federation, Luis Ciprian, who stated that the delegation will also include two Dominican referees who will deliver justice in the fair.

The president of FEDOMES thanked the immeasurable effort and support of the Ministry of Sports and the Dominican Olympic Committee, represented by Engineers Francisco Camacho and Garibaldi Bautista, respectively.

He said that the goal of FEDOMES is to work focused, without any distractions and to overcome all the obstacles that come our way, “since the most precious thing for us are the athletes and the coaches, they are the true protagonists of the sport.”

And he added: “our delegation is made up of the teams already classified for the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, such as the women’s and men’s saber, women’s foil and women’s épée teams, with a total of thirteen athletes, who will arrive in Peru , well prepared”, argued the federated leader.

In addition, he said that they will have the participation of two Dominican referees (something never seen in this type of competition), three coaches and a national delegate in the person of Santos Martin Pichardo, who is the second vice president of the Dominican Fencing Federation.

The referees are: Rhandall Hernández and Alodia Rodríguez; while the coaches are: Carmen Núñez in foil, Agustín García Cárdenas in saber and Carlos Vega in the Sword modality.
