António Félix da Costa’s day at the Monaco E-Prix went from bad to worse. The Portuguese driver was running 12th when he was involved in a collision with Edoardo Mortara, forcing him to retire from the race on Saturday.
A Tough Day
Félix da Costa qualified 15th, which he believed put him at a higher risk of being involved in an accident. “We weren’t fast, we struggled to get the most out of the car,” he said. The collision with Mortara was the final blow, leaving Félix da Costa frustrated. “It was a stupid accident. I had more than half a car in front, but when he closed the door, I couldn’t avoid it,” he explained.
Championship Standings
Oliver Rowland took the win, further solidifying his lead in the championship. Félix da Costa dropped to third place in the standings with 54 points, six behind his teammate Pascal Wehrlein. The championship is heating up, with the second race of the Monaco E-Prix scheduled for Sunday.
