The four Sports Federations that were sanctioned by the Dominican Olympic Committee, alleging irregularities in the performance of their work, formed a “block” and will exhaust all legal resources.
“We will make the Olympic Committee return to legality and we proclaim that the sport “has begun a high-profile federative crisis, which is not known where it will end,” says a statement from the federates. .
Dr. Ronald Santana, speaking as spokesman for the Fencing, Pentathlon, Badminton, Surfing and Shooting Federations, revealed that this Tuesday they sent a communication to the Ministry of Sports in order to request that the economic withholding for the months of May and June be terminated, without any justification.
He narrated that if the federation crisis deepens, no one will be able to bear it in the Olympic movement and the sport could unfortunately collapse.
He exclaimed that they will fight for the right that assists them in any field. “We have received calls from several federations that they will join this cause and that soon the block will reach over 20 federations and a bit,” he stressed.
“The Olympic Committee made a call to friends to the presidents of the aforementioned federations and in it they informed him that he had to leave the meeting because it was a friendly meeting and then they jumped with these resolutions without providing a single proof, only taking away from the public rumor”, said Dr. Ronald.
He stressed that the COD should have convened five Federation Assemblies to hear and evacuate the suspension of the aforementioned federations and it did so with a stroke of the pen on July 11, through a sheet of paper, violating its own statutes.
He stated that they will request the COD, through an act of bailiff, the minutes of the meeting where it was decided to suspend those federations, give the list of those present at that meeting, after prior consultation that should have been done for the interviews.
Dr. Santana affirmed that, if the call is not granted, they will file an amparo before the Superior Administrative Court. “Those federations have stopped receiving close to 10 million pesos for their calendar work and they have not been explained why,” he said.
