A bus company in Utrecht is facing an estimated $86,000 to $108,000 in damages after vehicles transporting FC Porto fans for a Europa League match were “destroyed.” An official for the unnamed bus operator told local broadcaster RTV Utrecht that all eight vehicles used were damaged.
Images show FC Porto ultras igniting smoke flares inside one of the buses. This specific incident occurred in one of two buses where passengers were later detained by authorities.
Separately, another bus carrying regular FC Porto supporters experienced broken windows. These were reportedly shattered from the outside by rival Utrecht ultras.
The incidents occurred while fans were being transported to the Europa League match in Utrecht.
