Girona FC Begins Pre-Season Training Ahead of Unforgettable Season
Girona FC has commenced pre-season training, marking the start of an exciting campaign that will see the team participate in the top continental competition. Under the guidance of coach Míchel Sánchez, 19 first-team players and five reserve team players underwent medical tests before donning their training gear and taking to the pitch at La Massana, the club’s new home in Vilablareix.
First Team and Reserve Team Players
The players who took part in the first training session include Gazzaniga, Juan Carlos, Arnau Martinez, David Lopez, Juanpe, Ivan Martin, John Solis, Toni Villa, Manu Vallejo, Valery, Portu, Stuani, Jastin, Joel Roca, Artero, Ilyas Chaira, Pau Victor, Ibrahima Kebe, and new signing Gabriel Misehouy. From the reserve team, Antal, Oriol Comas, Selvi, Almena, and Minsu were also in attendance.
International Commitments and Holidays
Notably, Krejci, Abel Ruiz, Oscar Ureña, Dovbyk, Tsygankov, Blind, and Yangel Herrera did not participate in the first training session, as they still have international commitments or are taking a short break.
Pre-Season Schedule
The club has confirmed its pre-season match schedule, which includes fixtures against Olot (July 17), Montpellier HSC (20), RCD Espanyol (27), Toulouse FC (31), SSC Napoli (August 3), Newcastle (9), and AFC Bournemouth (10). The league campaign will commence on August 15 with a match against Betis at the Benito Villamarín.
