Portuguese football club Farense has formalized a long-planned partnership with an Egyptian academy founded by former international star Mido, aiming to integrate young African talent into European football and enhance its global presence.
The agreement, signed Monday, establishes a talent exchange program between Egypt and Portugal. It will allow athletes from The Maker Club academy to gain direct experience within European football via Farense.
For Farense, the collaboration reinforces its strategic drive for internationalization and investment in quality youth development. The club views this as a key step in expanding its global footprint.
Mido’s academy, The Maker Club, will use the partnership to further its mission of cultivating future football stars. This includes development both on and off the pitch.
The protocol had been under preparation for several months before its official signing.
Mido is a widely recognized former Egyptian international player. His notable career included stints with major European clubs such as Ajax, Olympique Marseille, AS Roma, and Tottenham Hotspur.
