It seems even beloved cooking duos aren’t safe from online tricksters. Farah Khan, the famous filmmaker and choreographer, recently had to put on her digital detective hat. She discovered someone was pretending to be her talented cook, Dilip, right on social media.
Farah and Dilip are quite the pair. They run a very popular cooking video blog. They also have a fun travel show. Their online presence is usually all about good food and great laughs. But this time, it was about stopping a scam.
Farah found a fake account running under Dilip’s name. It had already tricked over 50,000 people into following it. The imposter account even called itself a “blogger.” It clearly tried to cash in on Farah’s fame too.
Early Sunday morning, Farah shared a screenshot of the sneaky account on her Instagram Story. She was not happy. She clearly stated, “This is a fake account.” She also added, “We are complaining about it.” Directing her words at the fraudster, she warned, “You better remove it.”
Her strong message worked fast. Just minutes after Farah’s post went live, the fake account panicked. It quickly changed its name and photo. All its posts disappeared too. Now, the account is named “A1 Blogger.” It stands empty, with no content at all. Talk about a swift online takedown!
Farah and Dilip’s cooking adventures have grown very popular over the years. They often visit celebrity homes. There, they whip up tasty meals and share funny chats. Their travel show, also featuring Dilip, is on Farah’s YouTube channel. Farah once shared a fun fact about Dilip. She said she found him over a decade ago. It was about 12 or 13 years ago, outside actor Ajay Devgan’s bungalow. It seems their journey together has been quite the ride, both on and offline.
