Farah Khan has always been known for her lively personality and sharp wit. She’s a hit filmmaker and a top choreographer. Lately, she’s also become a popular content creator online, sharing cooking vlogs where she visits celebrity homes for chats. It was during one of these recent visits, with actors Jackie Bhagnani and Rakul Preet Singh, that Farah spilled some surprising truths about the entertainment world.
She talked about a time when one of her big movies didn’t do well. What shocked her was how many people in the industry actually seemed happy about her setback. This kind of behavior, she revealed, isn’t uncommon. She said it often feels like some folks are more thrilled by someone else’s failure than by their own success.
Farah recalled the year 2010. That’s when her film, Tees Maar Khan, hit theaters. Unfortunately, it didn’t do well at the box office. She described how there was almost a celebration among many in the industry. People she had even worked with had an attitude that basically said, "Now she’s back where she belongs." It’s a strange twist, though, because that very film is quite popular with today’s younger generation, often called Generation Z.
During the same conversation, Jackie Bhagnani shared a similar feeling. He told Farah that when his produced film, Bell Bottom, didn’t perform as expected, he faced a lot of harsh comments. It made them both realize this pattern of negativity is something many artists experience.
The chat wasn’t all serious, though. Farah joked about wanting to try producing films herself. Jackie quickly advised her, "Don’t become a producer!" Farah laughed, adding her own funny observation. She quipped that Jackie used to own ten floors of property, but after becoming a producer, he now only has five. It was a lighthearted moment that perfectly captured the ups and downs, and the often quirky nature, of life in showbiz.
