The internet went wild recently, buzzing about choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan and actress Deepika Padukone. Reports claimed they had unfollowed each other on Instagram. People started guessing there was a fight between them. Well, Farah Khan has now spoken up, clearing the air and spilling the real story.
Farah recently chatted with Pinkvilla and set the record straight on the whole Instagram drama. She shared that she and Deepika actually never followed each other in the first place! During the filming of their movie “Happy New Year,” they decided they wouldn’t talk on Instagram. Instead, they promised to keep their chats personal, sticking to direct calls and messages. Farah even mentioned they don’t wish each other happy birthday on Instagram, because Deepika prefers it that way.
The filmmaker also touched on another time her words were twisted. She talked about her comment on Deepika working eight hours. Farah clarified that it wasn’t a jab at Deepika. It was actually a joke meant for her cook, Dilip, implying he would now work eight hours too, even though he usually only works two.
Farah wishes this trend of turning everything into a fake argument would stop. She pointed out a recent instance where media said she and Karan Johar ignored Aayush Sharma on the red carpet. In reality, they had already met him downstairs before coming up.
It’s easy to forget that Deepika actually started her acting journey with Farah Khan. Farah directed Deepika’s debut movie, “Om Shanti Om,” where she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Later, Deepika and Shah Rukh teamed up again for Farah’s film “Happy New Year.” Deepika is currently busy filming her next movie, “King,” which also stars Shah Rukh Khan. These two clearly share a long history that goes beyond social media likes and follows.
