Family tragedy: Juan Zunino dies four years after his brother in an accident

Argentine motorcycling is in mourning again. Tragedy struck the world of rallying again with the death of Juan Zunino (27 years old), as confirmed by the organization of the low 500 (second round of the World Desert Championship) held in Baja California, Mexico. The pilot was preparing the appointment and it was during training, when he suffered an accident with his KTM 450 XC-F2023. According to local authorities the coup took place near Cohabuzo and when they arrived at the scene, they could not do anything to prevent the tragedy. A “severe head trauma” caused his death, for which an investigation has been opened since the pilot was equipped with all the security elements.

He was found lifeless at mile 131 by another pilot, Arturo Salas Jr., who described the experience as “the worst” of his life: “I never thought I would see something so hard… let alone be there. I hope everyone is very careful what they do. Prepare carefully the Baja. My good wishes to everyone.” Zunino did not respond and his partner identified him, thanks to his vinyl helmet with the inscription ‘4Jimmy’ in honor of his brother. So he contacted the emergency team to try to save the life of the Argentine, who was trying to make his way internationally, while competing honoring his brother Gianfranco who also lost his life in an accident, in 2019, at just 19 years old. Rest in peace.
