Fallout: Bakersfield DOOM Mod Trailer Released After 3 Years Development

A single developer, Alexander “Red888guns” Berezin, has been quietly creating something incredible. For years, he worked on a passion project that reimagines a classic. It’s called Fallout: Bakersfield, and it brings a part of the original Fallout world into the intense action of the classic DOOM engine.

Berezin recently surprised the community by releasing a brand new gameplay trailer. This mod focuses on Necropolis, a well-known city from the very first Fallout game. This city is famous for its Ghoul inhabitants, the mutated undead. Now, players can blast through them in a thrilling first-person shooter style, just like in old DOOM. The visuals are striking too, featuring impressive 2D pixel art that feels just right.

He first unveiled this ambitious mod over three years ago. After the initial announcement, things went completely silent. Many fans who heard the news wondered if the project had been abandoned. This past weekend, the new trailer finally broke that long silence. It’s truly amazing that Berezin created this entire mod by himself. That solo dedication certainly explains the extended development time.

As of now, Berezin has not announced a completion date for Fallout: Bakersfield. We will all have to wait for him to share more updates in the future. His work was recently highlighted by PC Gamer, which detailed the mod’s return after its long period out of the public eye.
