Fakhar Zaman Breaks Down After Injury Ends Champions Trophy Campaign Suddenly

The Champions Trophy hasn’t been kind to the Pakistan cricket team so far in 2025. With Fakhar Zaman’s injury in the first over, he’s now out for the entire tournament. This loss has put Pakistan’s chances of making it to the semi-finals in jeopardy. To make matters worse, the ICC has imposed a fine on the team due to a slow over rate. A video of the Pakistan dressing room has gone viral on social media, showing a distraught Fakhar Zaman in tears after being ruled out.

Fakhar’s injury occurred when he dove to stop a ball from reaching the boundary, hit by Afridi in the first over. Although he briefly returned to the field, his time was cut short. He did come out to bat but unfortunately couldn’t make a significant impact. Now, a video of him leaving the field and entering the dressing room has surfaced, and it’s spreading like wildfire.

It’s clear from the video that Fakhar is devastated by his dismissal. He’s struggling to walk and, once in the dressing room, buries his face in his hands before breaking down in tears. His teammates can be seen trying to console him during this tough moment. In light of this, Pakistan has announced Imam ul Haq as Fakhar’s replacement.

As news of Fakhar’s injury spread, fans took to social media to express their disappointment. One tweet captured the somber mood:

Fakhar Zaman himself posted an emotional message after being ruled out of the tournament. On his X account, he wrote, “Representing Pakistan on the biggest platform is the honor and dream of every cricketer in this country. I’ve been privileged to represent Pakistan with pride many times. Unfortunately, I’m now out of the ICC 2025. I may be out, but I’m grateful to Allah for this opportunity.”
