The worlds of professional gaming and K-pop music often seem far apart. Yet, a recent event saw these two vibrant cultures blend. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, a legendary figure from the T1 esports team, made a surprise appearance. He popped up in the music video for “CEREMONY,” a song by the popular South Korean group, Stray Kids.
This unexpected cameo quickly caught the eye of fans. Both League of Legends enthusiasts and K-pop lovers shared their excitement online. Faker’s moment in the spotlight was brief but memorable. It happened at the 2:41 mark of the music video, right after Stray Kids member Felix Yongbok Lee.
Felix himself is a huge fan of Faker and enjoys playing League of Legends. He’s often teased good-naturedly by his bandmates for his lower rank in the game, specifically for being “bronze.” This shared passion highlights a growing connection between top-tier esports athletes and mainstream entertainment figures.
Faker’s appearance comes as he continues to add to his impressive career. He recently hit an incredible 700 wins in the LCK, which is the League of Legends Champions Korea league. He was also the very first player to secure 10 LCK titles.
Known widely as the “GOAT,” or greatest of all time, Faker has been with T1 since 2013. During his time with the team, he has led them to five World Championships. T1 is currently the reigning champion, having clinched their latest victory against Bilibili Gaming in 2024.
