Mumbai often buzzes with star power, but a recent event mixed that glitz with some serious political talk. On Tuesday, the annual FICCI Frames 2025 conference brought together big names from media and entertainment. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made an appearance at the opening ceremony, where actor Akshay Kumar stepped into the interviewer’s shoes.
Akshay didn’t shy away from asking the tough questions. He posed an intriguing one to the Chief Minister, asking who he considered the “real hero” in politics. This was a fun parallel to the many “reel heroes” we see in Bollywood, and everyone was curious about the answer. Fadnavis didn’t hesitate, naming Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his pick.
The Chief Minister explained his choice, highlighting that PM Modi has consistently delivered on his promises. He pointed out how slogans like “Abolish Poverty” were often heard, but it was PM Modi who actually helped 250 million people rise out of poverty in just ten years. This shows a strong commitment to action over words.
Fadnavis also touched on India’s impressive economic journey. He noted the country’s transformation from one of the “fragile five” economies to now being among the top five globally. He added that India is on track to become the third-largest economy very soon. Beyond economics, he praised India’s growing presence in technology and defense manufacturing, showing we’re truly competing on the world stage.

The Chief Minister further shared his vision for the nation’s future. He reflected that while India has always heard stories of its past greatness, the path to future greatness was often unclear. However, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, there’s a clear direction. Fadnavis expressed confidence that India is on the right path, with a strong vision for a developed nation by 2047.
This year marks the Silver Jubilee of FICCI Frames. The two-day event brings together leading figures from the media and entertainment world to discuss the future of the business. Besides Akshay Kumar, actor Ayushmann Khurrana also attended, offering insights into his career and upcoming projects.
