Facundo Conte returns to the Argentine Volleyball League

The leading receiver Facundo Conte, one of the figures of the Argentine volleyball team that won the bronze medal in the last Tokyo Olympics, will return to Argentina and will play the next League 2022/23 in Ciudad Vóley, his first club.

Conte, 32 years old, comes from getting on the podium of the powerful Plusliga of Poland. This Saturday he communicated his return to Ciudad, the club where he learned to play volleyball, with an emotional video of him through his social networks.

“15 years ago this beautiful journey began. With volleyball I traveled the world, I played in many countries, in the best clubs and in the best leagues. I had the privilege of fulfilling many of my dreams, but I always had one pending: to return home Because in reality it all started when it was just a game and in my club I learned to love volleyball, so I decided that it is time to return home, to return to the City with 7, “said the volleyball player.

Conte will arrive in the country in the coming weeks to join the Argentine National Team and will have his presentation at the City in advance of the commitments with the team led by Marcelo Méndez, who will play on June 2 and 3 against the Netherlands at the Héctor stadium Etchart de Ferro.

“In the most important signing in the history of the Club and, without a doubt, in one of the most outstanding incorporations of volleyball in our country in recent decades. Facundo decided to return to Argentina in a great personal moment to wear the shirt again with the one who took her first steps in the discipline,” reported ‘Muni’.

Facundo, son of Hugo Conte (one of the glories of Argentine volleyball, bronze medal in the 82 World Cup and in the 88 Seoul Olympic Games), went through the leagues of Italy, Poland, Brazil, Russia and China. With the national team, which he has been part of since 2007, his main achievement was the Olympic bronze medal in Tokyo 2020. He also won the gold medal at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
