An explosion at a chemical factory in India has killed at least eight people.
According to Indian media reports, the incident took place in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh where a boiler exploded in a chemical factory.
According to police, eight people were killed and 15 injured in the blast and the condition of some of the injured is critical, which could lead to an increase in casualties.
Police said rescue operations were underway at the factory and an investigation into the blast was underway.

Most of the industrial accidents in the country are blamed on people who violate safety rules as well as negligence on the part of government officials.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the bereaved families, his office said in a tweet in Hindi.
The Chief Minister’s Office tweeted, “The Chief Minister has directed the district administration officers to go to the spot and monitor the rescue and relief measures and provide all possible assistance to the victims and their families.”
