In the latest case, on Friday, Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, was rocked by a bomb blast during a cricket match.
In reality, an Afghanistan Shapagiza T20 Cricket League match was being played at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium, when there was a suicide bombing and there was a commotion. According to the report, many people were killed in this explosion and some people were also injured.
The players were taken inside the bunker.
After the explosion during the live match, there was chaos in the stadium for some time. Players from both teams were taken into the bunker. Surprisingly, United Nations officials were also present at the stadium when the attack took place. The match stopped for about an hour after the explosion. However, the fight resumed after receiving the green signal from the police. Following this, the Band-e-Amir Dragons team achieved the new target of 94 runs in 10 overs with 17 balls to spare under the Duckworth-Lewis rule. Previously Pamir Zalmi’s team had scored 159 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Match resumed in an hour
Afghanistan Cricket Board Executive Director Naseeb Khan told ESPNcricinfo that Kabul police rushed to the scene immediately after the blast and conducted a thorough investigation, clearing out the stands where the blast occurred. An hour later, he authorized us to start the match again.
Significantly, in this Shapagiza T20 Cricket League match, many big players and internationals from Afghanistan were also playing. In this, Shapoor Zadran Pamir Zalmi, who played in the World Cup, was the team captain. Apart from them, Daulat Zadran and Mohammadullah Najibullah were also part of the match.
