Excitement in Thailand: A specimen of the Omura beluga whale is spotted

In Thai waters, nature has presented a unique spectacle with the sighting of a white Omura whale, a rare phenomenon that has captivated a group of tourists who came to see the specimen, considered the rarest whale in the world near Phuket on video, creating excitement and enthusiasm for them.

Scientists observed Omura whales in the wild off the coast of Madagascar for the first time, according to a 2015 study published in the journal Royal Society Open Science.

Omura whales are small tropical baleen whales that were previously misidentified as Bryde's whales. This Omura beluga whale may be the first known example of an Omura albino whale.

The travel company that shared the images said they had named it “Thalang.”

Marine life experts are working together to identify the species of this beluga whale, a rare event that has sparked interest in marine conservation. Known for their genetic rarity, white whales are symbols of good fortune in several cultures, and their presence near the Thai coast has sparked hope and admiration.

“Local authorities are taking measures to ensure the safety of the white whale and preserve its habitat. This will allow scientists and nature lovers to enjoy this amazing sighting while raising awareness of the importance of protecting marine life.”
