On a quiet street corner in Cruz de Carrasco, where Antonio Pereira meets Camino Oncativo, a dedicated team worked late into Wednesday night. These were specialists from the Forensic Police, meticulously combing the area. They were hunting for tiny clues in the dark, hoping to piece together what happened to former judge Luis Delfino.
Investigators believe Delfinoās final moments might have unfolded right here. Their main theory suggests he was killed in this very spot. After the killing, his body was then moved in his own car to an open field. There, the vehicle was set on fire, and his remains were later discovered in the trunk in the Flor de MaroƱas area. He had been shot once in the head.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Homicide Department was busy in the same neighborhood. They carried out seven separate raids, looking for answers to several crimes. Delfinoās murder was among the key cases they aimed to solve. During these morning operations, police seized a firearm that belonged to the former judge.
The night work by the Forensic Police concentrated heavily on a specific alleyway nearby. They used a special liquid called luminol. This technique helps reveal biological traces that are invisible to the naked eye. They hoped to find crucial samples to prove their theory: that Delfino was indeed killed at this location before his body was transported and burned. Clothes, possibly belonging to Delfino, were also found at the scene.
To ensure no evidence was disturbed, personnel from the Republican Guard stood watch over the entire area. Their presence helped secure the scene as the search for justice continued, one careful step at a time.
