Ex-Cricketers Clash Over Gautam Gambhir, Chaos Erupts, What Happened

Manoj Tiwari Clarifies Comments on Gautam Gambhir Amid Criticism

Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwari has addressed the controversy surrounding his comments on Gautam Gambhir. Tiwari’s clarification comes after fellow cricketer Aakash Chopra accused him of criticizing Gambhir to gain publicity.

Background of the Controversy

The controversy began after India’s exit from the World Test Championship 2023-25, which led to questions about Gambhir’s coaching. Tiwari had made some critical comments about Gambhir in an interview, calling him a ‘hypocrite’. Chopra responded by accusing Tiwari of targeting Gambhir to get attention.

Tiwari’s Response

Tiwari posted two videos on his social media account to address the allegations made by Chopra. He claimed that Chopra had not watched the entire interview and had reacted to only a few lines. Tiwari stated, “I want to clear up the misunderstanding.”

Tiwari emphasized that he has no personal feud with Chopra and respects his honest opinion. He also clarified that he does not need to criticize Gambhir to gain publicity, saying, “I do not need to wash my hands in the Ganga. I can wash my hands whenever I want, but I do not need to do so.”

Tiwari’s clarification aims to put an end to the controversy and clear up any misunderstandings. However, the incident has sparked a debate about the role of former cricketers in criticizing current players and coaches.
