Everything at stake in the last group day

After six days of competition, The last day of the group stage arrives at the World Cup in Lithuania. Of the 24 teams, divided into six groups, the first two advance to the eighth … and the four best thirds. Therefore, the fourths of each group (six in total) and two thirds will be eliminated. There are none classified as first, but there are already eight with a ticket to eighths. Eight teams will say goodbye in this phase. We review the situation group by group.

Group A

Kazakhstan and Venezuela, with six points, are both in the round of 16. They will play between them to find out who passes as first and who as second (Saturday, 7:00 p.m.). The tie gives Kazakhstan first place. Costa Rica and host Lithuania will play (Saturday, 7pm) with the illusion of passing as a better third. It will not be easy, as they have -6 goals and -4 goals, respectively. The winner must score and wait for results.

B Group

Russia is inside with six points, and has yet to secure the lead. It is measured against Guatemala (Saturday, 5:00 p.m.), which has the three points, the same as Egypt. Of course, the Africans play against Uzbekistan (Saturday, 17:00), bottom with zero points. At stake, second place and great options for the third of this group to advance.

Group C

Portugal is in the round of 16 with two victories, and will play against Morocco (Sunday, 17:00), to certify the leadership. The Africans, who saw how Thailand tied them with twelve seconds from the end, have not the pass, much less assured. With four points, they face the European champion, while the Thais, with one point, will do so against the weak Solomon Islands (Sunday, 5pm). Most likely, three teams will advance in this group.

Group D

Brazil adds and continues. He only needs to certify the first place, and he will do so except for a catastrophe in his final match against Panama (Sunday, 3:00 p.m.). Six points of one and zero of another. On the other hand, the Czech Republic and Vietnam, with three points each, are measured in a duel in style (Sunday, 3:00 p.m.). A tie could give the pass to both depending on other results.

Group E

Spain, another that has the ticket for eighths. On Monday, against Angola (17:00, GOAL), he has in his hand to certify the first place with a simple point. Japan and Paraguay, with three points each, face each other (17:00), with second place at stake, and with an eye on other games for third place.

Group F

The Argentine champion also has a place in the second round. Against Iran (Monday, 7:00 p.m.), they will play first place, although both are already classified. Serbia will face the United States (Monday, 7pm). For Europeans, the only option is thrashing and waiting. The Americans, with -13 goals, have it almost impossible. Right now, Serbia and host Lithuania would be the only two group thirds not to advance.
