Following Nagui’s official departure on July 22 from “Everybody Wants to Take Their Place” after fifteen years in animation, Laurence Boccolini will take over the reins of the game on France 2 from August 9. A challenge that Willow’s mother has prepared for due to the criticism and comparisons she will inevitably be subjected to.
“Presenting this format is no more difficult than animating another game. On the other hand, it is more difficult to go after a personality like Nagui. No one can make you forget. That the fans of “Everyone wants to take their place” can rest assured. The general dynamics of the France 2 game will remain the same. But the production still made some changes to start this new era. With in particular a change of the logo of the fair, as well as a new decoration with “giant petals in the shape of a laurel wreath that symbolize the excellence of champions,” the chain specified in a press release.
The champion’s red chair has a new design, the scenery has been “revised to better mark the progress of the game”, the candidates will now be “arranged in an arc”, while the lights on the board will change according to the seasons.
A new sequence will also appear: the question for everyone, or QPT, for the first round of the game. With questions that will be asked simultaneously of all six candidates, which will make it much more rare that none of them can get a point.
Depending on the production, this change will drive the pace of the show. “We will considerably reduce the duration of the first round, going from about 30 to about 20 minutes. And we want to strengthen the duration of the last one, a time when there is more interest and more viewers, “said one in a press release.
