Everyone at BCCI asked Virat Kohli to stay as T20I Captain: Chetan Sharma, Head of Selection of India
Refuting Virat Kohli’s statement, the head of the selection committee, Chetan Sharma, said on Friday that everyone at BCCI asked the champion hitter to continue as the captain of the T20. After Kohli stepped down as T20 captain, BCCI chairman Sourav Ganguly had said the board had asked Kohli to reconsider his decision.
Kohli later refuted Ganguly’s statement, saying that he had not spoken to the chairman of the board and that he was informed of his removal from the ODI captaincy an hour and a half before the selection committee meeting for the South African tour.
