Evenepoel medical report: bruising and pain in the sacrum

The Belgian, who did not speak to the media after crossing the finish line in Salerno, quickly went to the Quick-Step medical services to have his condition evaluated. After being treated by specialists from his team, the doctor Toon Cruyt revealed the state of the corridor late this Wednesday afternoon.

“From the second fall he had a lot of pain on his right side. He has a big bruise and a muscle contraction there, problems with the sacrum. But luckily, with a good massage, osteopathic treatment and a good night’s rest, it will be better. We will see tomorrow morning ”, the medical officer in charge of the Belgian squad began his intervention.

However, although the prognosis is favorable and his continuity in the Italian round does not seem to be in danger, admitted that Remco can spend several bad days on the bike: “We have to take a few days before that bruise goes away, but we hope that the contraction of the muscles disappears faster.
