Eva Rodríguez, SINC journalist, winner of the II Orange Journalism and Sustainability Award

The Pátio Verde space in Madrid was the setting chosen yesterday afternoon to announce the winners and finalists of the second edition of the “Orange Awards for Journalism and Sustainability”, in an act presented by journalists Roberto Braseiro Y mercedes martin and which also had the presence of personalities from the political, journalistic and social world linked to sustainability.

SINC journalist, eva rodriguezreceived the prize in the written media category for the report “BioGenoma da Terra, one of the most ambitious projects in the history of biology”.

In its decision, the jury emphasized the timely choice of the topic addressed in this report —the genome sequencing of the species— as well as deepening the content and treatment of various initiatives around this concept and its application in areas such as fauna conservation in a scenario of climate change, the search for new medicines or the prevention of pandemics.

Jose Maria Montero (South Channel) and Tania Alonso Y Juan Fernandez (Planeta Mauna Loa) were the winners in the audiovisual and new formats categories, respectively.

The purpose of these awards is to recognize journalistic and publicity work —developed in written, audiovisual or new formats— that, in the last year, stood out for their treatment of themes related to the sustainable development and technologyboth from an environmental point of view and in its role as a tool for integrating and improving people’s lives.

That same year, the SINC editor received the APAE Agro-Food Journalism Award in the Agro-Food Sustainability category and an honorable mention in the Aqualia Journalism Award.

Eva Rodríguez (Ourense, 1981) has a degree in Journalism from the Carlos III University, in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s in Strategic and Business Communication from the Rey Juan Carlos University.

In the period covered by the bases of these awards, from the Terra e Mar and Espaço Protegido spaces, an excellent work has been carried out in disseminating information about the environment and its care through more than 200 reports.
