Eurozapping: Poverty Explodes in Spain, Denmark Lifts Health Restrictions

Like every night, 23 hours cover the news broadcast by European television channels. It’s the Eurozapping on Friday, September 10th.

Poverty exploded in Spain. For Luis and Sandra, it’s survival. After paying the rent, there are only 450 euros left for water, electricity and food. “What little we have is for the baby. We often skip lunch and sometimes even dinner “, says Sandra Macias, unemployed for over a year. Like them, 4.5 million people live below the poverty line in Spain. The situation worsened with the Covid-19 epidemic.

In Greece, caregivers are on the streets against mandatory vaccinations. Since September 1st, they no longer receive a salary. Irritated, they refused to be vaccinated. There are at least 7,000 recalcitrants. Despite the protests, the government has no plans to back down.

Denmark is removing the restrictions. With nearly three quarters of the population vaccinated, life has returned to normal. This time it’s the party itself: bars, cafes, theaters, everything opens without a vaccine passport. Only border controls remain in place.
