European country defends Ukraine, important announcement

European country Finland came to the defense of Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Finland, which aspires to NATO membership, has announced that it will send a consignment of defense equipment to Ukraine after supplying weapons to Russia.

A statement from the Pentagon stated that “no further details will be provided regarding the content of the aid and the manner or schedule of delivery to ensure that the aid reaches its destination.”

Mika Pannan, an adviser to the ministry, also refused to tell the news agency whether the aid consignment included weapons.

Four days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Finland broke its long-standing policy of not supplying weapons to war zones and announced that it would send anti-tank weapons, assault rifles and ammunition to Kyiv.

Several countries, including Sweden, Britain and Germany, have announced plans to send new shipments to Ukraine this week, following calls from Ukrainian President Zelensky to increase their military aid to the European Union and NATO.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has sounded the alarm in Finland, which has been part of the Russian Empire for more than 100 years. Moscow has fought two wars in the last century and has a 1,340 km (830 mi) land border with Russia.
