The first shipment of German heavy weapons and munitions arrived in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Rznikov has said that the first shipments of German Howtzer and other heavy weapons have arrived in Ukraine.

The Berlin government says heavy weapons and equipment have been sent to Kyiv from Ukraine as promised.
The shipment comes after repeated appeals for weapons and ammunition as the Kyiv government seeks to stop Russia’s military operation in eastern Ukraine.

Germany has delivered Hauser weapons. In May, Germany promised to send seven artillery systems, in addition to the five Howitzers promised by the Netherlands.

The Penzobits are the most powerful artillery weapon in the 2000 German military arsenal, while the Hauser can hit targets up to 40 kilometers (25 miles) away.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov thanked his German counterpart, Christine Lambretch, and Dutch Defense Minister, Kajisa Olungreen, calling the shipment “an example of international cooperation in support of Ukraine.”
