EuroLeague Star, Wife Arrested for Paramedic Assault Post-Game

An Argentine EuroLeague basketball player and his wife were arrested in Italy following an alleged street assault on paramedics who were responding to an emergency call.

Luca Vildoza, a point guard for Italy’s Virtus Bologna, and his wife, Milica, were detained by police. The incident left two paramedics requiring hospital treatment.

The alleged altercation occurred just hours after Virtus Bologna’s 77-73 EuroLeague victory over Monaco, a home game for the Italian team.

Witnesses reported Vildoza exited his vehicle and grabbed one female health professional by the neck. His wife, Milica, also allegedly pulled the professional’s hair during the confrontation, according to Italian media.

The confrontation began when the couple’s car was reportedly held up behind an ambulance attending a medical emergency. Vildoza became impatient, allegedly honking, flashing his lights, and shouting at the health professionals.

Later, the player’s vehicle and the ambulance, which had its emergency lights activated, encountered each other again. Vildoza’s car then allegedly performed dangerous maneuvers, including sudden braking, to block the ambulance’s path.

A police patrol intervened, leading to the couple’s arrest. They spent the night in a police station.
