Euro 2020: England eliminates Germany and qualifies for the quarter-finals

England today qualified for the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 in football, by beating three-time champions Germany 2-0, at Wembley Stadium, in London.

Raheem Sterling, in the 75th minute, and Harry Kane, in the 86th minute, scored the England team’s goals, which “avenged” the 1996 semi-final defeat, on the same stage, then in the penalties in which only current coach Gareth Southgate failed.

In the quarter-finals, England will measure their strength with the winner of today’s clash between Sweden and Ukraine, in a match scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 PM GMT+1 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, Italy.
