Estudiantes de La Plata beat Barcelona de Guayaquil 3-0 and qualified for the round of 16 of the South American Cup. Mauro Méndez scored a brace and Benjamín Rollheiser widened the gap with a great goal for the local team. In the second half, Carrillo converted the fourth.
Estudiantes became strong from the beginning, and after six minutes Méndez scored the first. The premises continued to be more and at 19 Méndez appeared again to widen the differences.
