Esther Carnicero and Lucía Martínez continue with their dream

Esther Carnicero and Lucia Martínez, semifinalists in Brussels, have stolen the spotlight from all the couples, male and female, of the Belgian tournament. They maintain their dream and after playing their first match in the quarterfinals, this Saturday they will play the semifinal against Virginia Riera and Paty Llaguno (10:00 a.m.), which no one had three weeks ago. They live a magical moment and against Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias (6-4 and 6-3) they took another leap in their career. Virgina and Patty knocked down Ana Nogueira and Carmen Villalba, 6-3 and 6-1.

Undoubtedly, the appearance of the female duo covers in some way the success of Stupaczuk and Lima, the only male couple of the new ones in recent weeks, which gets into the semifinals. They faced each other to Di Nenno and Paquito Navarro, former teammates, and this time they did get some rematches: 6-4 and 7-5. Navarro and Di Nenno are as if they were at the start of the season, when they lacked the winning spark.

Stupaczuk and Lima will play against Coello and Belasteguín, who return to the semifinals after a game with ups and downs against Chingotto and Tello: 6-2, 6-7 and 7-5. There was controversy, because in the second set, Bela and Coello had sudden death on the right track when the referee sang a bad action by Belasteguín at one point by the Argentine: the video showed that he had not touched the net, but he saved Tello and Chingotto, who then won the set. Seeing Belasteguín brooding over the play for several games was striking, but he recovered and also scored the final point.

In the other semifinals they face Sanyo and Tapia (passed over Ale Ruiz and Mono González, 6-3 and 6-1) against Lebrón and Galán (without problems against Sanz and Lampertí, 6-2 and 6-3), Y Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar (superior from the middle of the first set against Marta Ortega and Bea González, 6-4 and 6-2) against Lucia Sainz and Marta Marrero (they dropped Jessica Castelló and Alix Collombon, 6-2 and 6-4).
