Espanyol reserves Manu Trigueros without paying a transfer fee

The Perico club was one of the most static in this winter market, recording 0 signings. Apparently the board under Chen Yansheng insists not to take any steps that require economic effort.

There is a hidden economic crisis at RCD Espanyol, which is why they will sign Manu Trigueros at some point. The reasons why the Blue-Whites didn’t sign the talented midfielder in this just-ended winter window can be traced back to two details very important things that have to do with Villarreal CF.

The first and perhaps most important is that, although the player does not fully count for Marcelino, he represents an important residual figure. So his departure was not planned for January. Secondly, if Manu Trigueros insisted on leaving, the Yellow Submarine would demand a financial fee (paying for the signing) and Espanyol is currently in an economic recession.

The midfielder’s contract runs until 2025, but his agent has already negotiated his departure with a release letter for the next summer market.

So Espanyol will wait until the summer for Manu Trigueros

Everything indicates that the Talavera midfielder has already said yes to the Catalan team and the date for the official link will be in the next summer market. By then, the 32-year-old footballer will have already ended his contract with the team from Castellón (at least by consensus). Regarding an extension, Miguel Ángel Tena assured that there is currently nothing.

The most likely scenario is that this line will remain in place until the end of the season as Trigueros wants to leave La Cerámica. At the same time, he trusts that Espanyol will be one of the three teams promoted in this category and can therefore continue to participate in LaLiga EA Sports. Currently, the team led by Luis Miguel Ramis is in 4th place, 6 points behind the leader.

Manu Trigueros would not arrive at Espanyol alone

The sports management around Fran Garagarza is working on signing a left-back, who was also about to arrive at the RCDE Stadium in January. We’re talking about Pep Chavarría, who, like the Toledo midfielder, didn’t count for his team, in this case Rayo Vallecano. However, the contractual obligation that the player has in Vallecas ends until 2027.

What RCD Espanyol could do is apply for a loan to raise the level of the team as exclusion has caused problems. However, promotion will make their job easier as the Madrid outfit will be happy to see their player remain in the top category. This way the winger could arrive on the same day as Manu Trigueros.
