Maxi Gómez opened the scoring for Valencia and Raúl de Tomás equalised, both in the first half. De Tomás has scored 17 goals in the season. Espanyol fired coach Vicente Moreno and sporting director Francisco “Rufete” Pérez on Friday, amid anger from fans over the team’s poor performance this season.
