The Spanish Erik Noya was proclaimed runner-up in the 2021 Moscow Climbing World Championship in the men’s speed event. Noya took the silver medal after beating American Noah Bratschi in the semifinal, but could not defeat the Ukrainian Danyl Boldyrev in the grand final.
Boldyrev completed the test in 5.73 seconds, for the 5.95 of the Spanish, while in the fight for bronze, the American Noah Bratschi won bronze.
Speed events opened on Thursday the World Climbing competition, which in Tokyo made its debut on the Olympic scene. Noya’s silver in climbing is added to the gold that Alberto Ginés obtained in Tokyo, where the three climbing modalities were combined: speed, difficulty and blocks, which demonstrate the great Spanish potential in this sport.
