Everyone knows the phenomenon Fortnite, this XXL battle royale which brings together in a vast world players with the skins of key pop-culture characters. In the same vein, three former employees of Lucasfilm have also joined Epic games in 2021. Among these three new faces, we find Jason mcgatlin, a former producer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story of Gareth Edwards (2016). Primary motivation from Epic would be to be able to find a new source of income, given that the conflict between the firm and Apple is still continuing and creating a real shortfall for the company.
It would seem difficult to be able to build a story around Fortnite, as the game is all about a deluge of action and gunfights. The whole thing could look like a giant spider’s web of pop-culture references, as it may have been lately. Ready Player One by Steven Spielberg (2018) and Space Jam: New era.
