England cricket team manager Chris Silverwood has resigned from his post after a humiliating defeat at the hands of Australia in the Ashes series. Earlier, England’s director of cricket Ashley Giles had also resigned. Silverwood said: “The last two years have been very challenging. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the team.

He said: “I am leaving with good memories. I will now spend time with my family and start the second inning of my career.
