England beats France and faces Canada in the Women's Rugby World Cup final

England has punched their ticket to the championship game of the Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025. They delivered a commanding performance this past Saturday in Bristol, UK. The Red Roses defeated France by a score of 35-17 in the second semi-final match. Now, they prepare to face Canada for the ultimate prize.

The contest started close, with England holding a narrow 7-5 lead at halftime. However, the English squad surged ahead in the second half. They piled on the points, scoring five tries in total. Ellie Kildunne was a standout, crossing the try line in the 5th and 69th minutes. Amy Cokayne added another try in the 46th minute, followed by Abbie Ward at the 59-minute mark. Megan Jones sealed the deal with a final try in the 79th minute.

This victory sets up a chance for England to claim their third world title. They previously lifted the trophy in 1994 and 2014. The team aims to succeed New Zealand as the reigning champions. The highly anticipated final match is scheduled for the 27th.

Meanwhile, Canada earned their spot in the final with a surprising win. They overcame New Zealand, defeating them 34-19 in the first semi-final on Friday. This result means Canada will challenge England for the coveted title.

For France, it was another disappointing exit from the tournament. This marked their ninth time falling short in the semi-finals across ten editions of the competition. The French team has yet to reach the deciding match of a Women’s Rugby World Cup.
