Gemeny Hernández, partner of Emily Estefan, was arrested on October 28 in Miami. She faces charges of alleged domestic violence against Gloria Estefan’s daughter.
Reports indicate Hernández allegedly took Estefan’s phone and assaulted her with the device. Emily Estefan reportedly sustained a bruise around her left eye and scratches on her right neck.
Estefan called 911 following the alleged altercation. Hernández was subsequently taken into custody.
Hernández was released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on October 29. Her bail was set at $3,000 USD.
A Telemundo Miami report shared judicial documents related to the case.
During a court appearance via video call, Emily Estefan expressed her wishes. “I don’t want any order against her,” Estefan stated to Judge Mindy S. Glazer. She also indicated she had “begged” officers not to arrest Hernández.
Both artists have remained silent on social media since the incident. Neither has issued further public statements.
This recent legal episode casts a shadow over their relationship. The couple has been together for eight years and lived together for four.
