Almost three years have now passed and the Doge-1 rocket has still not been launched. The launch was actually planned for this month: February 3rd to be precise. However, the mission has significant significance delay developed.

Doge-1 space mission with Dogecoin postponed

Samuel Reid, CEO of Geometric Energy, the company behind the launch of Doge-1, said on X that Dogecoin fans will have to wait a little longer for the launch.

However, the exact reason for the delay was not disclosed. Reid says Geometric Energy paid SpaceX to rebook. Of course, this payment was made with Dogecoin. It is estimated that the launch will take place in 6 to 9 months.

Dogecoin fans react with disappointment over X. This is the umpteenth time that the launch has been postponed. They are also disappointed with Musk, who is silent on this topic.

Another crypto space mission a success

However, in December, Dogecoin was involved in another lunar mission. That was the launch of the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Vulcan Centaur Rocket. This rocket included a NASA lunar lander that will conduct tests on the moon. There was also a kind of time capsule on board the lunar lander, into which various crypto companies put something.

For example, the crypto exchange BitMEX stopped one of them physical Bitcoin wallet In. These were the private keys of a wallet with 1 BTC. The wallet address is also public so anyone can access it Bitcoin (BTC). The Dogecoin community also partially funded the mission, of course with DOGE. As a thank you, the “MoonBox” also contains a physical DOGE coin. The launch was successful, but unfortunately the satellite suffered a fuel leak that stopped the mission on the moon itself has been canceled.
