Elon Musk to Stay at Tesla Until at Least 2030

Elon Musk is staying put as Tesla’s CEO for at least five more years. He made this clear during a video conference at the Qatar Economic Forum. Musk said he wants to focus on the company’s future, not politics.

Tesla’s Current State

Tesla’s had a tough time lately. Its reputation took a hit because of Musk’s political views. The company’s sales also dropped worldwide. In the first quarter of 2025, Tesla’s profit fell 71% to $409 million. Car sales revenue dropped 20% compared to the same time last year, to almost $14 billion.

The biggest impact was in Europe, where sales hit their lowest point in two years.

Musk said the company’s sales have started to bounce back. However, he admitted Europe is still the weakest region.

Musk’s New Strategy

Musk said he’ll spend less time and money on politics. He wants to focus on Tesla and his other companies. He questioned whether his political views really hurt Tesla’s reputation.

Musk said: “Maybe we lost some sales from people on the left, but we gained them from people on the right. Our sales numbers are solid, and we don’t see a problem with demand.”

After Musk’s announcement, Tesla’s stock price went up 3.6%. This was a surprise, given the overall market trend.

Musk is committed to Tesla until 2030. He’s not going anywhere, despite rumors saying otherwise. He’s willing to make tough decisions to ensure the company’s success. For now, it seems like his plan is working.
