The mainstream media’s attempts to downplay the FTX scandal have not gone down well with the crypto community. Will Manidis, CEO of ScienceIO, says on Twitter that former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried managed to steal more than $10 billion with a $40 million donation. Musk then responded in his own way.
Did Former FTX CEO Donate $1 Billion?
That’s just the publicly disclosed figure. His actual support for Democratic elections is probably over $1 billion. The money went somewhere, so where did it go?
Said the billionaire and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and now also Twitter.
That’s just the publicly disclosed number. His actual support of Dem elections is probably over $1B. The money went somewhere, so where did it go?

While it is indeed public knowledge that Bankman-Fried donated more than $40 million to the Democrats in the context of the election, he recently admitted that there was indeed more money involved and also donated to the Republican party. Through the proverbial back door in the end, much more money went to the American political party.
In the meantime, it seems that the soap opera surrounding Bankman-Fried and his FTX has no end. Every day new information comes out that puts the platform and its founder in an even worse light. However, it is still waiting for Bankman-Fried to be handcuffed.
Why is SBF treated so softly?
The big question circulating in the crypto community is why Bankman-Fried is being treated so softly. He even received a round of applause for his interview at a New York Times event recently. In a way it’s strange to see someone who cheated for billions of dollars get applause from a large hall of intelligent people.
Polygon CEO Ryan Wyatt also understands little of the positive atmosphere that currently surrounds SBF in the mainstream media. “He’s a criminal,” Wyatt is clear about the way we should look at SBF.
In the end, it remains to be seen what will happen to the fallen CEO of FTX. So far, it looks like he’s somehow getting away with it. Which in itself would be a huge scandal.
